Research & Quality

Nothing goes on your skin without a reason

Here's exactly how we choose, research, and check every formula before it ever reaches our shelves.

Last updated: August 2026

Ingredient-First

Every active is chosen for a documented, well-understood benefit — not a trend.

Checked, Not Assumed

We look into the research behind an ingredient before it earns a place in a formula.

Honest Claims Only

If the evidence for something is limited, we say so — no exaggeration.

Why we do this

Skincare has a trust problem. Products get launched because an ingredient is trending on social media, not because it's actually been shown to do anything. We built Étoirose the opposite way: we start with what's actually documented to work, and we don't put anything into a formula — or into a description — that we can't stand behind.

How a product earns its place

1

We look at the research first

Before choosing a formula, we review the published research and established dermatological understanding behind each active ingredient — how it's studied, what it's actually shown to do, and where the evidence is strong versus limited.

2

We check the concentration makes sense

An ingredient is only useful at the right strength. We compare each formula's concentrations against what's generally recognized as effective for that ingredient.

3

We source from established manufacturers

Our formulas come from manufacturers with a track record of quality and safety compliance — not untested, one-off suppliers.

4

We write descriptions we can defend

Every claim on this site is checked against what's actually documented. Where the evidence for an ingredient is still developing — like some newer antioxidants — we say that plainly instead of overstating it.

What "reviewed" means to us

We're a small, independent skincare brand — we don't run our own in-house clinical trials, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do is thoroughly research the established science behind every ingredient we use, and build formulas around actives that already have a track record of real results. If we ever add third-party clinical testing on a finished formula, this page will be the first place we update to reflect it — honestly, and by name.
